editing

Let’s be honest, having the imagination and capability writers have is amazing and admirable. But, still, (almost) all of them need and seek help in order to get the best out of their stories and ideas. And that is where I come in. Passionate about reading since my earliest days, I want to help writers and publishers to create more fantastic books that readers fall in love with.

Fictional literature, thrillers, fantasy, historical, as well as YA and children books are the genres I mostly focus on, but, I am always open to new experiences.

translations

There are few things worse than a badly translated book. Maybe, big, hairy spiders or waiting for the third book of the Kingkiller Chronicles.

A well translated text captures and conveys the magic of the original and guarantees the same exciting reading experience. Translations both have to flow freely and stay faithful to the original text, to not lose the intention and style of the author or give readers the impression of reading something that has been created by a translation tool. This is what I aim to achieve in each one of my translation projects, both from English and Spanish to German.

about me

Hi! My name is Tamara, I am originally from Vienna but I have been living in Spain for almost a decade now. I grew up with books, I have always been surrounded by stories, ever since I can remember. Both of my parents work in editorials, so I never ran out of books, even when I often managed to read one per day.

While my passion for books has been present throughout my whole life, fed not only by my parents, but also by my part-time job at a bookshop during my earlier student years, I started my professional career in digital advertising and marketing, but later on realised that I would rather edit books than social media posts.

And this is what I do today, after successfully completing the Itinerary for professional Editing, organised by Penguin Random House and the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona.
